Make sure that your baseball glove is properly broken in before you begin to practice. If you have a new glove, it really does pay to work it in before you start playing. Toss the ball in the new glove. Break leather in by using leather softener. Hit the weave of the glove over and over with your fist. A glove that is broken in will work better in practice.

Do not reach around your body to catch a ground ball. Instead, shuffle quickly to the right or left and get your glove out in front while the ball comes toward it. Failing that, the ball might clip the glove’s side.
To help improve the direction of a bunt, and to avoid it going back to the mound, you should position the bat handle and head of the bat in a way that is directed away from the pitcher. If you are lefty, make sure to do the opposite. Keeping the proper angle with the bat keeps the ball fair and away from the pitcher’s mound.
